Gordon F. "Boomer" Dablow starred on both the football field and basketball court for North Dakota from 1930 until 1933.Â
As an offensive lineman, he was a three-time All-NCC selection and helped the program capture back-to-back NCC crowns in 1930 and 1931 with a pair of perfect conference records. He was one of 69 players named to the UND All-Century Football Team in 1994.Â
On the basketball court, Dablow earned two All-NCC distinctions in 1932 and 1933 and captained the program to a 16-2 record in his senior season.Â
Following his playing career, he served as a Major in the US Army in the early 1940’s.
A native of Thief River Falls, Minn., Dablow was a successful businessman. He worked for Jewel Tea Co., Club Aluminum Co. and became a Vice-President of Cal-Dak, Inc. He was with Cosco, Co. from 1965 until his retirement in 1976.Â
Dablow was also inducted into the Thief River Falls High School Hall of Fame in 1994.
