Joyce played three seasons for the Sioux and still holds the UND record for most goals in a single season (52 in 1986-87). He ranks 11th on UND's all-time scoring list with 182 points (101 goals, 81 assists) and is one of only three UND players to score 100 career goals.

A first team All-WCHA selection and first team All-American in 1987, Joyce played six NHL seasons with Boston, Washington and Winnipeg.
