University of North Dakota Athletics

A product of Grand Forks, Skarperud lettered for three seasons (1970-72) with the Sioux basketball team as a guard. He gained team MVP acclaim as a sophomore and all-conference honors as a senior. Skarperud also earned all-district honors as well. Besides doing well on the court he was also a strong academic student. He was a member of the Blue Key Society and also on the Dean's List.
