NOTES: Fighting Hawks head to Fargo to take on the Bison

The 8-11 Fighting Hawks head down the road to Fargo to play instate rival, North Dakota State. The women will kick off the double header on Saturday, January 25 at 1 p.m.

All UND women's basketball games, both home and away, are broadcast on the Home of Economy Fighting Hawks Radio Network and streamed via the iHeart Radio app, with veteran broadcaster Jack Michaels providing play-by-play commentary. Saturday's game will air on 100.3 FM (Cat Country).

Series History: UND vs. The Bison
Though neck-and-neck, the Hawks hold a slight edge in the all-time series record 48-44. Despite holding the lead, the last ten games have been tough for UND having gone 1-9.  
 
Last Time Out: vs. South Dakota State   
 UND fell short against South Dakota State, 87-73, on Saturday afternoon at the First Bank & Trust Arena.

North Dakota set the tone early, North Dakota started slow, trailing 26-14 after the first quarter as South Dakota State shot an impressive 53.8% (7-of-13) from the field. The Hawks responded with a 56.3% (9-of-16) shooting performance in the second quarter, but the Jackrabbits shot 64.7% (11-of-17) to keep the deficit at 49-37 going into the half. With strong performances from Jocelyn Schiller and Kiera Pemberton, for a combined 11 points and 50% (6-of-12) shooting, the Hawks led scoring in the third 20-19. UND didn't allow a single turnover and made one steal.

Jocelyn Schiller led UND with 19 points, shooting 6-of-10 from the field and 3-of-4 from beyond the arc and 4-of-6 from the free throw line. Kiera Pemberton contributed 15 points and six rebounds, hitting 7-of-15 shots. UND shot 47.4% (27-of-57) from the field, while SDSU shot 53.2% (33-of-62). From the arc, the Hawks shot 38.1% (8-of-21) to SDSU's 33.3% (6-of-18). From the free throw line, UND went 11-of-14 (78.6%) to the Jackrabbits' 15-of17 (88.2%). The Jackrabbits held a 34-26 rebounding advantage, including 10 offensive rebounds. The Hawks limited their turnovers to just 10 while notching 11 assists.
