NOTES: Fighting Hawks to battle Lady Griz at the Betty on Thursday

GRAND FORKS, N.D. - Coming off their first loss of the season, the 2-1 Fighting Hawks remain at home to host the 2-2 Montana Lady Griz on Thursday, November 21. Tip off at the Betty Engelstad Sioux Center is set for 7 p.m.

Series History vs. The Lady Griz  
Thursday will be the 21st meeting between UND and Montana where the Lady Griz hold the all-time series record at 12-8. The Fighting Hawks though have the upper hand when at home, going 5-3. The Hawks will look to break the current five game losing streak against Montana dating back to January 4, 2018. 

The last time UND saw Montana was Nov. 20, 2022, where they fell 82-77. Veteran Hawks Miranda VanderWal, Kiyah Hurst, and Rakiyah Beal each saw time in this game putting up 14 of the 25 bench points. 

Last Time Out: vs Green Bay
North Dakota fell 66-63 in a tightly contested game, despite strong performances from Mikayla Aumer and Kiera Pemberton. Aumer led scoring with 17 points and Pemberton recorded her second double-double of the season with 16 points and 10 rebounds. 
UND finished a perfect 7-of-7 from the free-throw line in the fourth quarter and 15-of-20 (75%) for the game. UND shot 37.7% (20-of-53) from the field and 33.3% (8-of-24) from the three-point range.

Home Sweet Home
The Hawks are off to a solid start at home with a 1-1 record. UND and their opponents are averaging 64.5 points per game, but NoDak has the upper hand with field goal percentage, 39.2% to 37.9%. 

The Fighting Hawks have showed off their defense edging rebounds 41.5 to opponent's 34.5 per game for a +7 margin. 

In the Rankings
The Hawks' 19.67 free throws per game ranks eighth in the nation and first in the Summit League. UND also leads the conference and placed in the top 10 for their 32.3 defensive rebounds per game.
