GRAND FORKS, N.D. – The Fighting Hawks return to conference play Thursday at the Betty Englestad Sioux Center when they host Omaha at 7:00 p.m. UND is 0-2 in Summit League play so far this season with losses to St. Thomas and South Dakota State.

Series History vs Omaha
North Dakota holds a commanding 55-11 lead all-time against Omaha and are 27-5 when the two teams meet at the Betty. Since the 2018-19 season, the Hawks' first season in the Summit League, UND is 8-3 against the Mavericks and 4-0 at the Betty.
In the 65-63 win at the Betty, the Hawks trailed 63-60 with just under three minutes remaining. The Hawks defense held the Mavericks scoreless to close the game, holding UNO to 0-for-3 from the field with four turnovers. Borowicz closed out the Hawks win on the other end of the floor, scoring the game's final five points in the last minute and a half of action.
UND swept the regular season series against Omaha last year but fell in the quarterfinals of the Summit League tournament 84-81 to the Mavericks.
Kacie Borowicz poured in a career-high 36 points on 14-of-23 shooting to go with five assists and four rebounds.
In the three games against Omaha in 2022-23, Borowicz paced the Hawks in scoring at 26.0 points per game and dished out 15 assists.
Last Time Out: vs Eastern Washington
UND fell to Eastern Washington 72-65 Saturday and went 1-1 during the Summit League - Big Sky Challenge. UND led 26-25 after a defensive heavy first half that saw both teams shoot under .350 percent from the field.
In a back-and-forth contest, the lead changed hands 18 times and neither team led by more than eight points.
Kacie Borowicz led the Hawks in scoring for the 10th time this season with 8 points. She also grabbed seven rebounds and had two assists.
Kiera Pemberton added 10 points, while
Sammiyah Hoskin totaled seven points and nine boards.
VanderWal's Career Day
In UND's first game of the Summit League - Big Sky Challenge,
Miranda VanderWal had a career day to lead the Hawks to a 78-72 win over Idaho State on Jan. 3. She led NoDak in scoring for the first time this season with a career-high 18 points on 7-of-10 shooting, including her first three-pointer in the green and white. Alongside her scoring output, VanderWal also dished the rock against ISU tying for a team high with four assists, another new career-best, as UND tied a season-high with 16 assists as a team.
VanderWal grabbed seven rebounds in the contest, with two off the offensive glass, and swatted two Bengal shot attempts.
Borowicz Sets Division I Scoring Record
With her 32 points against St. Thomas,
Kacie Borowicz set the North Dakota Division I scoring record passing Lexi Klabo's total of 1,633 points. Borowicz moved into seventh on the UND all-time scoring list. Borowicz has reached the 20-point mark in six games this season and has been the Hawks leading scorer 10 times.
The fifth-year guard from Roseau, Minn. scored 674 points last season, the most by a Fighting Hawks since Marisa Leighton's 682 points in 2003-04.
