Series History vs. the Leathernecks
Tuesday marks the 11th all-time meeting between North Dakota and Western Illinois, with the series tied at 5-5. The teams have alternated wins in each of the last three seasons, including a split last year with both teams winning on the road.Â

Mallory Bernhard earned her first win as a bench boss against the Leathernecks on Jan. 29, 2021 in a 79-57 victory.Â
Last Time Out: vs. St. Thomas
North Dakota opened conference play in style, cruising to a 70-56 victory over St. Thomas on Monday night from the Betty.Â
UND used a 26-10 advantage in the second quarter to build a lead and never look back to extend its winning streak to six and give the Fighting Hawks their first 1-0 start in Summit League play for the first time since 2019-20.Â
Kacie Borowicz logged another 20-point outing, pacing all scorers for the 11th straight game with 23 points on 9-of-15 shooting to go alongside a trio of rebounds, assists and steals in 30 minutes of action.Â
Claire Orth put together one of her most complete games of the season, scoring a season-best 18 points a near-perfect night from the field (8-of-9) while grabbing a career-high nine rebounds to just miss her first-career double-double.
Maggie Manson made it two straight games in double figures with 10 on a trio of triples to finish as the final Fighting Hawk to eclipse the 10-point plateau.Â

North Dakota has been one of the best teams in the Summit League this season, ranking at the top of multiple categories on the defensive side of the ball.Â
The Fighting Hawks pace the Summit in FG% defense (.358), scoring defense (62.4), scoring margin (+9.8), three-point defense (.290), turnover margin (+4.09) and turnovers forced per game (20.09).Â
UND has allowed only one opponent to shoot over .500 percent this season (at Montana) and only two others to eclipse to .400 mark (at Grand Canyon and at Eastern Michigan).Â
