Series History vs. the Tommies

Last season, the Fighting Hawks swept the Tommies in league play, grabbing a victory in St. Paul before closing out the sweep in Grand Forks.
Last Time Out: vs. Mayville State
In the final nonconference game of the 2022-23 season, UND rolled to an 87-66 victory over Mayville State on Monday night from the Betty.Â
For the 10th straight game, it was
Kacie Borowicz who led the way on the offensive side with a game-high 28 points on 8-of-15 shooting while also dishing out six assists and grabbing three rebounds in the win. The senior turned it on after a 1-for-6 start in the first quarter from the field, exploding for a 6-for-7 clip over the next two stanzas to cross the 1,000-point plateau for her career.Â
Nakiyah Hurst reached double figures for the third time this season and second straight game, scoring a career-high 12 points and knocked down 50 percent (6-for-12) of her shots from the field. The freshman also played a career-high 17 minutes and grabbed a pair of rebounds.
Maggie Manson notched 11 points, a season best, knocking down a trio of triples on seven attempts.Â
Juliet Gordon also continued her strong play with 10 points on 3-of-5 shooting, including a perfect 2-for-2 from distance, with adding six rebounds and a steal in 23 minutes. The graduate student now has five straight games in double figures and has at least six boards in four of those contests.
Home Sweet Home
UND is looking to keep up its dominance at home this season, as a win would improve the Hawks to 6-0 inside the Betty to begin the season.Â
The last time NoDak started 6-0 at home was 2013-14, when the green and white won its first seven contests at home before closing out a 15-1 season on its home floor.Â
The Fighting Hawks have averaged 75.4 points per game and allowed just 53.2 per contest in the five games at home so far this season, including just 30 to UW-Superior. UND has not allowed a home opponent to score more than 66 points through five contests and has won four of the five games by double figures.Â
Kacie Creates Spacie
Last season,
Kacie Borowicz established herself as one of the top scorers in the Summit League and country, pacing the conference at 19.4 points per game to rank 28th in the NCAA. The senior was also second in the league with 4.4 assists per contest and ninth in field goal percentage at .414.Â
The senior has continued her torrid scoring pace so far this season, leading the Hawks in points in all 10 games. Overall, Borowicz leads the Summit League in points per game (21.5) and free throw percentage (.940) while sitting second in assists per game (4.8). The senior is 10th in the nation in points per game nationally, 11th in FT% and 48th in assists per game.Â
She put together one of her best outings at Montana on Nov. 20, scoring a career-high 35 points to earn Summit League Player of the Week.Â
The senior followed it up with another sparkling performance in the win at Eastern Michigan, scoring 34 points on 10-of-19 shooting to go alongside seven rebounds, five assists and a steal to earn her second Summit League weekly award.Â
In the win over Mayville State, Borowicz became the 37th player in program history to score 1,000 career points at North Dakota to cap off her 28-point, 6-assist night against the Comets.Â
