Current Head Coach
Mallory Bernhard played in both the 2008 and 2009 meetings between the two teams, scoring three points in the first contest and two in the rematch.Â
Last Time Out: vs. Detroit Mercy
UND led nearly wire-to-wire on Monday in the win over Detroit Mercy, rolling to a 70-61 victory to open the 2022-23 regular season from the Betty.Â
Three Fighting Hawks hit double figures, paced by Kacie Borowicz's 19. The senior, who only scored four points against the Titans last season, went 9-for-18 from the field and dished out nine assists to pace the hosts in both categories.
Home Sweet Home
Opening with two straight at home is a rare treat for North Dakota in the Division I era, with Friday marking only the third time since 2008 the Fighting Hawks have started the campaign with two straight games at home.Â
In the 2011-12 year, UND opened with three straight at home (2-1) and went 1-3 at home to open the 2010-11 season.
Slow Starts
North Dakota did something that it had not done in a long time on Monday, jump out to a 1-0 record to begin the season. In fact, the win over Detroit Mercy snapped a 13-year losing streak in season openers dating back to 2008.Â
Prior to Monday, NoDak last won a season opener on Nov. 14, 2008 against Eastern Michigan, which was the program's first game as a DI school.Â
