ON TAP
Following an opening weekend that was shortened to one game due to roster limitations for the University of North Dakota, the Fighting Hawks will head to Tulsa, Okla. on Jan. 8 and 9 to take on Oral Roberts in a pair of 5 p.m. tipoffs.

GOLDEN EAGLES LOSE OPENING WEEKEND OF SUMMIT PLAY
Much like the University of North Dakota hockey program the last two weeks, the Oral Roberts women's basketball had its series with Omaha postponed to a later date. Dates for the makeup series have not been announced. The Mavericks and ORU were the only teams to have their Summit League series postponed last weekend, while KC and UND agreed to a single game series due to roster limitations. The only Summit League team that did not compete last weekend, South Dakota State, had its conference bye week.

SCOUTING THE GOLDEN EAGLES
Playing predominantly Power Five conference foes, Oral Roberts enters Summit League play with a 2-6 record, recording its lone wins over Tarleton State and Rogers State. Despite playing the likes of then-No. 14 Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma State, and TCU, the Golden Eagles have a pair of scorers in double figures in those contests in 2020 All-Summit League guard Keni Jo Lippe (10.0) and Tierney Coleman (10.4). In its two wins this season, 6-4 Grand Canyon/Memphis transfer Manaya Jones averaged 11 points and 9.5 rebounds for the Golden Eagles at center. ORU has had to rely on its depth this season as only six players have played in all eight games, with 14 players total appearing this season. As a team, the Golden Eagles are nearly averaging 40 rebounds per game, pulling down 50-or-more versus Oklahoma State, Tarleton State, and Rogers State. ORU also crashed 40 boards versus Nebraska.

NEXT UP
The Fighting Hawks will return home to host rival North Dakota State on Jan. 15 and 16 in a pair of doubleheaders with the men's team. The Hawks and Bison will tipoff at 5 p.m., on MidcoSN and The CAT 100.3 FM.
