NEW YEAR, SAME HAWKS
North Dakota may have closed the first half of the season 9-4, but the Fighting Hawks continued its winning ways in their inaugural game of the new decade at Denver. UND's 10-4 start to the season equals the Fighting Hawks 2013-14 season when they earned its first NCAA Tournament bid as a Division I institution. The 2013-14 team went onto an 11-4 record before dropping two-straight games.

ALL FIGHTING HAWKS
The University of North Dakota and Purdue Fort Wayne have met three previous times with the Fighting Hawks winning all three contests. UND defeated the Mastodons in last season's Summit League opener, 79-60, the two teams' first meetings since a non-conference tilt during the Fighting Sioux's first national championship season in 1996-97. UND is 1-0 in Grand Forks against the Dons.

SCOUTING PURDUE FORT WAYNE
Purdue Fort Wayne will enter the weekend with a 4-10 record after dropping its Summit League opener against No. 22 South Dakota, 62-41. The Mastodons only trailed the Coyotes by two at halftime, 27-25, and were only outrebounded on the glass by two, 32-30.
