ON TAP

UND will battle defending regular season champion South Dakota  Thursday at the Betty. The Yotes went undefeated in league play last year and this season again lead the conference at 5-1 heading into the week.

LAST ACTION

North Dakota State turned 18 UND turnovers into 30 points on the way to a 68-57 win in Fargo, N.D.. for the Bison's first win in the series since 2004. Lexi Klabo was held to 11 points and six boards in the loss.

THE SERIES WITH USD

North Dakota leads the all-time series with the Coyotes with a 49-26 record in a series that dates back to 1977. UND won 23 consecutive games in this series from 1990 - 2001. The series is tied, 6-6, in the Division I era with South Dakota currently on a four-game winning streak.

LAST TIME AGAINST USD

Bailey Strand connected on five first-half triples but host South Dakota rallied back from down 16 after the first quarter to steal a 76-71 win at the Sanford Coyote Sports Center. UND out-rebounded the Yotes, 35-18, but gave up 22 turnovers which fueled USD's comeback.

ORTH OF OFFICE

Freshman Claire Orth earned herself her first career start Sunday at North Dakota State. The Circle Pines, Minn., native took just one shot in her 17 minutes of work.
After scoring just 2.1 points per game in the non-conference slate, Orth has scored at least six in three Summit League games, including a career-best 11-point output against Western Illinois (Jan. 13).

FLEECS' FIRST
Julia Fleecs got into the starting lineup for the first time in her career in North Dakota's 68-57 win over Omaha Jan. 9. She responded with 14 points and five rebounds in the absence of Lexi Klabo.

LEXI KLA-NO

Lexi Klabo was not in uniform for the first time in her career Jan. 9 in the win over Omaha. She had played in every game up to that point and came back our days later to pour in 27 points and add 11 rebounds vs. Western Illinois.

OOPS, I DID IT AGAIN

Lexi Klabo became the first repeat Summit League Player of the Week with her honor on Dec. 31. She scored 21 and grabbed eight rebounds in the win over Purdue Fort Wayne in the team's first-ever Summit League tilt Dec. 29.

LEXI EXCAVATING THE RECORD BOOK

Lexi Klabo has moved into 14th place on UND's all-time scoring list, passing current associate head coach Mallory Bernhard (Youngblut) and former teammate Mia Loyd in the process. At her current pace (18.7 ppg), she would crack into the top 10 (1,531) in just shy of five games. She's also broke the free throw makes record and is currently among the leaders in blocked shots and has moved into the top 10 in rebounds as well.
