DES MOINES, Iowa--
Host Drake remained undefeated with a 73-63 win Sunday at the Knapp Center in non-conference play.  Senior Mia Loyd, who missed Tuesday's game vs. Omaha, scored 15 points and grabbed 11 rebounds off the bench for her 27th career double-double.

Makailah Dyer led all UND scorers with 17 points while adding five assists and four rebounds. Fallyn Freije chipped in 13 points to go along with a career-best eight rebounds.

"Today we learned it's about how we play together in a tough environment," UND head coach Travis Brewster said. "When we do with pride and passion, we can accomplish a lot. Now, we have to regroup and grow."

Drake (3-0), who was wins over power-5 schools Iowa State and Wisconsin on the young season, came out of the gate with 29 points to gain the early advantage.
The Fighting Hawks (1-3) would whittle away at that 11-point deficit, trimming it to just one at halftime. UND allowed just five second-quarter points in that second quarter as Drake managed just a pair of field goals to watch its lead sink to 35-34 at the halftime break.

North Dakota took its first lead on the first possession of the second half on a jumper by Samantha Roscoe and later claimed a three-point edge on two of Freije's 13 points. The Bulldogs, however, would tie the score at 50-all heading into the final frame.

In the fourth, Drake went on a 9-0 run midway through the quarter to stretch the lead back to 10. Dyer broke the stretch with a long triple, but the home team with 7-of-8 from the free throw line in the final 90 seconds to maintain its distance.

North Dakota (1-3) continues its road trip with a Wednesday visit to San Francisco followed by a Saturday date with Oregon.

Notes:
Mia Loyd's double-double gives her two for the season and 27 in her career ... Nine of Loyd's rebounds came after halftime Sunday ... Loyd moved into a tie for 27th place on UND's all-time scoring list (Whitney Meier- 1,057) ... Lexi Klabo recorded new career highs with five points and six rebounds Sunday.
