SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – North Dakota thrower
Kenna Curry was named the Kwik Star Summit League Women's Field Peak Performer of the Week, the league offices announced on Tuesday.
Curry won the women's hammer throw on Thursday at the Bison Open with a personal-best toss of 222-3 (67.74m). That toss not only improved her No. 5 throw in the NCAA and her No. 2 mark on the UND top-10 list, but set a new Terrence Dahl & Donna Beres Track Complex facility record. The previous facility record was 213-8 (65.14m), set by Amy Phillips, an unattached athlete for North Dakota State, at the 2023 NDSU Tune-Up.
The Elk Point, S.D., native, continued UND's throwing dominance in Fargo on Saturday and won the discus crown with a throw of 157-9 (48.08m).
North Dakota will travel down I-29 this week for the USD Tune-Up in Vermillion on Friday and Saturday.
