GRAND FORKS, N.D. – The North Dakota men's basketball will take on UC Riverside in its home opener on Thursday night from the Betty Engelstad Sioux Center.

Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. on Midco Sports with Bryan Shawn and Chad Walthall on the call. Paul Ralston will be on radio, at 100.3 The Cat.

The Hawks are coming off a 91-62 loss to No. 15 Alabama on Monday night in their season opener, while UC Riverside is coming off a 90-49 win over La Sierra.

It is the second career meeting between the two programs, with the Highlanders winning the lone meeting on Dec. 3, 2023 by a score of 68-63 in Riverside. Eli King was the only player between both squads to have appeared in that game, as he totaled 13 points and four rebounds.

King Thief
King had a team-high four steals, good for the most steals in a UND season opener since 2016-17 when Cortez Seales had four against Crown on Nov. 11, 2016. King has 95 career steals, just five shy from 100 for his career.

Anderson Getting Going in the Debut
Garrett Anderson recorded 13 points in his UND debut on Monday against Alabama, the most in a North Dakota debut since Paul Bruns had 13 against Milwaukee in 2021.

Contributions Off the Bench
The Hawks had 30 points off the bench against Alabama, featured by eight points from Anthony Smith lll, six each from Marley Curtis, Zach Kraft and Greyson Uelmen, concluded by four from Ryan Erikson.
