NOTES: Fighting Hawks continue trek I-29 to battle South Dakota

Following its first loss in over a month, the University of North Dakota women's basketball team looks to bounce back against South Dakota on Thursday night at 7 p.m. from the Sanford Coyote Sports Center in Vermillion, S.D.

All UND women's basketball games, home and away, can be heard on stations across the Home of Economy Fighting Hawks Radio Network, as well as through the iHeart Radio app, with longtime broadcaster Jack Michaels calling the action. Thursday's game can be heard on 100.3 FM (Cat Country).

Series History vs. the Coyotes
Saturday marks the 85th all-time meeting between North Dakota and South Dakota, with UND holding a 49-35 advantage in the series. 

It has been tough sledding for the Fighting Hawks in recent games against the Coyotes, dropping the last 13. The last NoDak win over USD was Nov. 17, 2013 in Grand Forks, as UND is looking for its first win over the Yotes in Vermillion since Jan. 16, 2010.

Last Time Out: at North Dakota State
UND saw its seven-game winning streak come to an end on the road against North Dakota State, dropping an 81-76 decision on Saturday in Fargo. 

Kacie Borowicz led the Fighting Hawks (9-4, 2-1 SL) with 27 points and a perfect 9-for-9 showing at the free throw line. She also had two of North Dakota's 11 steals.

Sammiyah Hoskin was just shy of a double-double, pouring in 12 points and grabbing a team-high nine boards. She made a career-best six field goals in her 36 minutes of play.

Claire Orth also netted 12 points and recorded a game-high four steals to pace the Hawks defensively. Orth had six points during UND's 13-0 run in the second quarter.

Nakiyah Hurst was the final Fighting Hawk to score more than 10, throwing in 11 points and grabbing five rebounds.
