*It is the first non-conference meeting between the two teams since Dec. 9, 2017.
*UND and NDSU last played three-or-more times in 2004, when the two rivals played in the NCC and NCAA Tournament in addition to conference play.
*The Fighting Hawks have traveled over 3,200-miles through North Dakota, Montana, Minnesota, and Wisconsin by bus in December.

ON TAP
After logging over 3,200 miles on the road in the last three games, the Fighting Hawks will play in-state rival North Dakota State in Fargo on Wednesday, Dec. 13.

MAKING SERIES HISTORY
In a storied rivalry that's beginning to renew with a feverish pitch since UND joined The Summit League, the Fighting Hawks and the Bison are scheduled to play each other three times in the regular season. It will be the first such instance in the NCAA era (1982-present). While North Dakota and North Dakota State have played each other three-or-more times on 10 occasions (last: 2004), postseason games have been a part of the equation. In 2004, NDSU won both North Central Conference games and the NCC Tournament meeting. However, the Fighting Sioux had the last laugh and won the next NCAA Tournament game, 80-71, advance to the Sweet 16 in St. Paul, Minn.

THE BISON NEED TO KNOWS
*The Bison won a pair of meetings in Fargo against Green Bay to crack the College Insider Mid-Major Top-25 rankings, moving into 16th after opening the season unranked and without votes.
*North Dakota State dropped its last game on the road at No. 24 Iowa State, 85-64. Ryan Cobbins led NDSU with 14 points and seven rebounds against the Cyclones.
*NDSU is 3-0 at home this season, opening its season with an 85-68 win over Northern Iowa on Dec. 2.
*Nebraska was scheduled to host North Dakota State in the season-opener, but the contest was canceled.
*Stephen F. Austin transfer Heaven Hamling has been the Bison's top-scorer, averaging 13.3 point per game. In her NDSU debut, she scored 20 points versus UNI.
*2020 All-Summit Honorable Mention selection Michelle Gaislerova is also averaging double figures for NDSU at a rate of 12.8 points per game. She scored 10 points last time out at Iowa State.
*The Bison have gone 62-of-76 at the free-throw line this season, shooting 81.6-percent. They are second to North Dakota in free-throw percentage.

NEXT UP
The University of North Dakota will close its non-conference season next week when it heads to the University of Toledo on Monday, Dec. 21 to take on the Rockets in the first meeting between the two storied programs.
