Penn State rallies late to avoid upset

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.-- Penn State rallied from down 11 midway through the final quarter to post a 75-68 win Wednesday afternoon. It was the Lady Lions' fourth win already this season when trailing by at least nine points.

"I liked the performance we got out of our four seniors. They showed the leadership needed to compete. Our newcomers need to embrace the grind of competition while remaining mindfully calm. I liked our team's resolve. Lexi Klabo was exceptional tonight, proving why she's getting the national notariaty."

Klabo dominated huge stretches of the game, including scoring the game's first five points and seven of UND's first eight. North Dakota (1-3) led early, but PSU took a 26-13 lead through one quarter.

North Dakota, however, would outscore the home team 38-18 during the middle two quarters on the way to a 64-53 advantage with just under five minutes to go. Penn State then ripped off 16 straight points and fouled out three different Fighting Hawk players en route to shooting 38 free throws to just six for North Dakota.

Klabo finished with 27 points and 10 rebounds for her second consecutive double-double and 22nd of her career. Jill Morton added 16 points, four rebounds and four steals for the Hawks.

UND continues its long road stretch, heading back out east to play at Rhode Island (Nov. 27) and UMass (Nov. 28).
