Gutzmer was named the Technology Specialist for Fighting Hawks Athletics in July of 2026. He transitioned to this role after acting as the Director of Video and Technology for the UND football team, starting in January of 2025.

With the football program, Gutzmer maintained and coordinated the use of all technology for the Hawks. This included the CoachComm system, instant replay, and IT assistance. Gutzmer also led the film effort for UND football, including coordinating equipment, student workers, and uploading and editing footage.

Gutzmer attended North Dakota and was a student video coordinator and student equipment assistant for Fighting Hawks football.

Originally from Fergus Falls, Minn., Gutzmer earned his Bachelor’s in Computer Science in December of 2025.
