Hunter joins the UND coaching staff in March of 2025. Hunter comes from Kansas Wesleyan University, where he was the assistant coach for the men’s soccer program. At KSU, Hunter aided the recruitment of over 99 student-athletes for over 2 seasons, helped improve the team GPA from 2.5 to 3.3, improved the team record by 11 wins from 2-14-1 to 13-5-2 in first season. During his two seasons at KSU, he accumulated an overall record of 24-11-5 and made a National Tournament Appearance. He coached 14 players who were voted for KCAC All-Conference and coached the KCAC 2024 “Goalkeeper of the Year” and “Newcomer of the Year”.
Cameron Hunter returned to his Alma mater and joined the Kansas Wesleyan coaching staff in August 2021 where he coached with the women's program in 2022, before moving to the men's program in spring of 2023.
Hunter’s coaching experience also includes time with Salina Central High School as the head coach for both the boys’ and girls’ teams. He was also a head coach for Puma FC and the United Premier Soccer League.
A defender, Hunter began his playing career at Chaffey College (2013-15) before transferring to KWU, where he played from 2016-17. He was voted Second Team All-Conference at both schools and captained both teams.
Originally from Pomona, California, Hunter graduated from KWU in December 2021 with a degree in exercise science and a minor in coaching.
