Andrea Borray-Ortiz

Andrea Borray Ortiz joined the University of North Dakota (UND) Women’s Soccer Team as the Director of Operations in June 2024.

Originally from Bogotá, Colombia, Andrea brings a wealth of coaching and playing experience to the program. She previously served as the Women's Soccer Graduate Assistant Coach at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside for two seasons (2022-2023), where she also earned her second master’s degree in Sport Management. Before that, she was an Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach at Highland Community College for the 2021-2022 season. She also worked as a Graduate Assistant Coach for the Women’s Soccer Program at Concordia University, Nebraska (CUNE) from 2019-2021, helping the team secure the 2020-2021 conference championship. During her time at CUNE, she earned a Master’s degree in Business Administration.

Andrea began her collegiate playing career at Laramie County Community College before transferring to Ohio Valley University (OVU) D2, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management with minors in Business, Coaching, and Management.

In 2015, she played 16 games for the Fighting Scots, making history on October 1st when she scored seven goals in a single match against Salem University. This record still stands as the highest number of goals scored in a game for both Ohio Valley University and the Great Midwest Athletic Conference. That season, she tallied 14 goals, setting school records for most goals in a season and in a career. She was named Athlete of the Month in October 2015. In her junior year, Andrea played 15 games, scoring three goals and providing three assists, further extending her school records. As a senior, she served as team captain, played 20 games (starting 19), and contributed one assist. She helped lead OVU to an undefeated regular-season title and a Great Midwest Athletic Conference Championship in 2017-2018.

Andrea was also a two-sport athlete, playing for the OVU women’s lacrosse team from 2017-2019. She earned a spot on the G-MAC All-Conference First Team for Women’s Lacrosse in 2019.

In the summer of 2017, Andrea completed an internship as an assistant coach for the Gryphons FC U-21 women’s soccer team in Guelph, Canada. The following summer, she returned to the club as a player, serving as co-captain of the Gryphons FC women's team.

Before moving to the United States, Andrea was selected for the Colombian U-17 Women’s Pre-National Team in 2012. She won four Bogotá League championships (2011, 2012, 2013, 2014) and was part of the championship-winning team at the Aruba International Cup in 2013. Andrea is married to Megan Borray Ortiz and is the daughter of Alberto Borray and Adriana Ortiz. She has one brother, Johann Borray.
