Q: What is the name of the hawk? 
A: The Fighting Hawk

Q: Is it a boy or girl? 
A: The Fighting Hawk is gender neutral.

Q: Who is the mascot? Or How do I become the mascot? Will the mascot be paid or is it a volunteer position?  
A: The performer in the mascot costume is a UND student. If you are interested in becoming a performer, contact Nicole Brush at nicole.brush@und.edu. There is a small scholarship available to the performers.

Q: Where will I see it? 
A: The Fighting Hawk will appear at various North Dakota Athletic events and a limited number of university and alumni events.

Q: How do I schedule The Fighting Hawk for an appearance? 
A: Public appearances will be scheduled starting fall 2019. 

Q: How much did UND pay for the mascot? 
A: The graphic identity and the two physical mascot costumes totaled approximately $32,000.

Q: Where did the money come from? 
A: The money came from private donations.

Q: Who designed the mascot?  
A: Rickabaugh Graphics designed the graphic identity and Street Characters produced the costume.
